Happy fall, y’all! The start of the fall season is marked by cozy sweaters, leaves falling, and the extremely popular Pumpkin Spice Latte! Until now, these delicious drinks have been reserved for humans. This year, your pup can enjoy a scrumptious, autumn-inspired drink with you! Luckily, we’ve curated a dog-safe, easy, and healthy recipe for a Pumpkin Spice Latte!
Pumpkin Spice Latte for Dogs
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
1 cup pumpkin puree (you can adjust the amount based on how thick or thin you want it. 1 cup of pumpkin puree will make a thick latte!)
1 cup coconut milk (you may also use oat milk)
Dash of cinnamon
Dash of ground ginger
Whipped Cream of your choice
Note: This recipe yields 2-4 servings, depending on the size of your dog
Steps to making the latte:
Add all ingredients to your blender and blend until smooth
Pour into desired cup/mug
Top with whipped cream of your choice (we used the plant-based TruWhip)
You're ready to serve it to your pup!
Now, if you have leftover pumpkin puree after your dog devours their fancy latte (which you likely will), we are including a recipe for some no-bake pumpkin treats to spoil them with as well!
No-Bake Pumpkin Treats
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
1 cup pumpkin puree
½ cup peanut butter
2 ½ cups oats (rolled or old fashioned)
¼ cup honey
1 tsp cinnamon
Steps to making the treats:
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until completely combined
Form 1 ½ inch balls from your mixture and put them on a parchment-lined baking sheet
Place in refrigerator and chill for 1 hour
Once they’ve reached your preferred texture, you may give some to your pup to enjoy!
To store and keep fresh, move to an airtight container to enjoy later
Our delicious recipes are pumpkin-based and for good reason! Pumpkin is a very healthy choice for dogs, veterinarians even classify it as a superfood! It is full of nutrients and fiber (and dogs love the taste as well)!
We hope you and your pup enjoy these fall recipes. Let us know if you made any of the treats and if your pup loved them! Happy fall 🐾
