Vaccinations Must Be Current Before Any Pet Can Stay With Us
(for a minimum of 7 days)
Even with regular disinfecting, it is possible for your pet to contract a virus or bacteria. For this reason, it is important for you to communicate with us about any illness or irregularities you notice with your pet(s). At Thousand Hills Pet Resort we require proof of vaccines before any pet can be boarded, groomed, or use daycare. Vaccination records must show the vaccination type and expiration date (ex. Rabies exp 6/7/2019). Required vaccinations are as follows:
Dogs: DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis (CAV-2), Parainfluenza, Parvovirus), and Rabies
Cats: FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis,
Calicivirus, Panleukopenia), and Rabies
For the safety and comfort of all of our new guests, we require at least one day of daycare before any overnight boarding and before being accepted to coming to daycare regularly. This day of daycare is free and will be considered an evaluation during which we will get to know the dog’s personality, play style, energy level, and more. Our staff is trained to monitor dog body language and we will assess how your dog does in our environment.
Our facility has a lot of new smells and sounds, so it can be very stimulating and possibly overwhelming to many dogs! We want to ensure that new guests will be comfortable with the environment, other dogs, and our staff during their time here and we also want to ensure that our facility is a proper fit for them. This daycare visit must be at least an entire day before any boarding stays and last a minimum of 3 hours.
For our guests that do not live within San Luis Obispo County and are unable to visit for daycare before their boarding stay, we will treat the first day of their visit as their evaluation. If for some reason our facility is not an appropriate fit for the dog, we will ask the owner to come pick up their dog, and will keep them on their own until pickup.
Deposits Are Required For All Reservations
A 1-night deposit is due at the time the reservation is requested. Reservations without paid deposits will not be accepted.
Deposits are refundable up until 24 hours before the reservation start date. Paying the deposit does not guarantee a reservation, you will receive an email once our staff has accepted your reservation.
Holidays are our busiest times of the year and require a one night deposit. The Holiday rate is an additional $12/night for each room. The Cat boarding holiday rate is an additional $7/night for each Cat Condo. This is necessary in order to ensure you have locked in your reservation.
We require a completed application process, current vaccination records, and a credit card on file. There is a 3-night minimum reservation or charge for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's holidays.
Cancellations during the Holiday periods must be made 24 hours prior to the first day of the reservation. Cancellations or changes within the 24 hours will be charged for 1-night at the holiday rate.
Holiday Dates 2021-2022:
The holiday rate ($12/night for dogs, $7/night for cats) will apply to all reservations made within these time periods. Contact our office for an estimated quote for your boarding stay.

A 3-night minimum is required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's.
Closed To The Public On:
The holidays that we are closed to the public are New Year's Day, Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. There are no drop-offs, pick-ups, or daycare. Our staff will still be on-site caring for all of the dogs and cats.
Pick-up For Boarding
This is always by 12:00 pm (noon). If you pick up after 12:00 PM, a daycare charge will be applied. The daycare charge is waived if you have a grooming (full-service bath) appointment scheduled.
Drop-off For Boarding
This is from opening business hours until 30 minutes before closing.
Daily Office Closure
Our office is closed daily from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm for lunch. We cannot accommodate boarding drop-offs and pick-ups during this hour.
No-show training and grooming appointments will be charged the full cost.
Boarding and daycare dogs who are not picked up by closing on their scheduled departure day (Monday-Friday: 6 pm, Saturday-Sunday: 5 pm) will be boarded and incur a $15 charge.
