Ready for some fun with your dog? We’ve got you covered! We’ve made a list of four easy peanut butter treats to make for your dog. These treats will surely hit the spot!
Peanut Butter Banana Ice Cream
This recipe is simple and delicious. Here's what you'll need to do:
Gather these ingredients:
1 frozen banana diced (we recommend you peel the banana before freezing it)
2 Tablespoons of peanut butter (without xylitol)
2 Tablespoons of plain yogurt
Pour your contents into a blender/food processor and blend until smooth! Once done blending, you may serve your dog's ice cream.
Peanut Butter Bacon Treats
This recipe is a little more savory and we're sure your dog will love it!
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
1 ¼ cup of creamy peanut butter (without xylitol)
¾ cup of nonfat milk
1 egg
2 cups of whole wheat flour
1/3 cup of whole rolled oats
1 tablespoon of baking powder
2 strips of cooked bacon chopped
Steps to making the treats:
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
Add peanut butter, milk, and egg into a bowl and mix. Add the flour and baking powder and mix until the dough is smooth.
Add in cooked bacon and oats and mix them into the dough.
Make dough balls or roll them out to make shapes with your cookie cutter.
Add dog treats to a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 20-22 minutes.
Remove and flip each treat to the other side and cook for another 10 minutes. Treats will last one week in the fridge.
Peanut Butter Honey Popsicles
These treats are great for warm days!
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
¼ cup of peanut butter (without xylitol)
1 tablespoon of honey
½ cup of chicken stock
popsicle molds (we love these ones from Amazon because they're a perfect size and have a drip catcher built into the popsicle stick/holder). You may also use ice cube mold if you don't popsicle molds!
Steps to making the treats:
Pour chicken stock (you may microwave or warm up the stock on the stove to help the ingredients mix more smoothly), peanut butter, and honey into a bowl and mix it well.
Pour the mixture into molds and freeze until it gets hard.
Once fully frozen, you may serve! You can also store them in a zip lock bag to bring out on hot days!
Peanut Butter Applesauce Treats
Here are the ingredients you'll need:
1 ½ cup of creamy peanut butter (without xylitol)
1 ½ cup of oats
1 ¼ cup unsweetened applesauce
3 cups of whole wheat flour
Steps to making the treats:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Mix peanut butter, oats, applesauce, and flour in a bowl.
Roll out the dough on a cutting board to ½ inch thick and cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
Place parchment paper on a cookie sheet and put your shapes on the parchment paper.
Bake for 20-25 minutes (the longer they bake, the crunchier they become).
Let them cool when they're done baking and serve! Store for one week in a container.
