Kennel Manager, Kyle Gillette
Its been a while since I updated this so I figure for those who are checking us out should get a more recent bio on me. I have now been here for over 3 years and I am still having a great time and can’t believe its been 3 years. I went from Cal Poly (Kinesiology) to personal training at the Avila Bay Club and working for our Mentoring program here called Alpha, then here. That happened from 2005-2007 then I came here. When I first started we had 8 less rooms, no landscaping to speak of, no grooming and a whole lot of work to do. Now we still have a whole lot of work to do, but we are moving forward, and I look forward to all the improvements that are still to come. If you haven’t been here before, stop on by soon, and I can give you a tour of our place.

Administration/Dog Trainer, Monika Jud

She now is in charge of our dog training classes and runs our reception.
Groomer, Erin Meleen
I have been working with Dogs for 20 year’s I raised muscle dogs in the midwest (pit bulls) and I have been grooming on the central coast for the last five years. I am all breed certified and cat certified. But, my passion is for senior and abused pets. You know the ones no one will touch. I love being able to work with these dogs and make grooming a pleasant time for them. I get a deep satisfaction working with dog who have been abused or that are scared of grooming. It’s funny that I can understand them and get them to trust me. Thousand Hills has given me the opportunity to continue grooming and it has been very exciting. I look forward to bringing my experience and love to your pet and making them look beautiful.
Groomer, Judy Javert
My name is Judy Javert and I've been and working with pets and their families on the Central Coast for about four years. There's no better job in the world. Grooming is a skill and an art, but must be done with love and patience. Every pet is someone's baby, and they deserve my best. I've been grooming on the central coast for about four years and am all-breed certified with extensive training in Terriers, Aussies and Goldens.
I love a beautiful dog. Each breed, each mix, has something wonderful about it. Many of my clients have led me to go beyond my all-breed certification and pursue advanced education. Honey, a Golden rescue was brought to me two years ago for grooming and I fell in love. She led me to rescue groups and breeders who kindly shared their knowledge and experience about this wonderful breed. And then there's Jack, the Lakeland Terrier. Jack's got ATTITUDE. Funny and smart, his Mom brought him to me four years ago, and I just had to learn more about handstripping these hardcoated breeds. I was fortunate to work with an AKC breeder/handler in the Bay Area and spent a year in training. Natty, the beautiful Aussie, led me to learn more about this wonderful breed. His Mom is an obedience trainer, and I'm honored she trusts me with his grooming.
Every pet and parent is important to me. I attend trade shows, grooming expo's, and workshops to stay informed about the best products, and grooming techniques for your pet. Thousand Hills shares my philosophy of a friendly and caring environment in which grooming, boarding, day care, and training are a fun and happy experience. I'm so happy to be joining their staff!
I look forward to meeting you all, and hope you will give me the opportunity to know and care for your pet. I promise to make them look and feel their best, but most of all, to love them.
Resort Host, Matt Ebersole
I moved to San Luis with the intent of transferring to Poly after one semester at Cuesta. I also just wanted to get away from home for a bit and be near the beach. I'm very glad I was able to find this place to stay. It definitely helps with
the rent and getting myself founded on my own. As for working here, it really is fun for me. I love playing with the dogs as well as working with them in obedience and whatnot. All the little projects are always fun as well, and I'm looking forward to helping out with the new grooming area and play structures.
Resort Host, Tavisha Nicholson
My name is Tavisha Nicholson and I am a third year at Cal Poly majoring in Civil Engineering. I grew up in Santa Rosa, California and from the beginning my family always had a house full of animals, both big and small. I was sad to leave my dogs at home when I moved down here but coming to work each day I am greeted by so many different personalities in the animals that it's impossible to not smile. Working here is a dream for me and I hope that you feel safe knowing that we treat each pet like it is one of our own!
Resort Host, Mitch Truppelli
My name is Mitch Truppelli, Im' a proud member of the Thousand Hills Pet Resort staff. I moved to San Luis Obispo from Palm Desert about a year ago, with intentions to go to school and get a business major of some sort. Currently I'm attending Cuesta College and plan to transfer to Cal Poly within the next year. I have been raised with pets in the household my entire life, and thuroughly enjoy their company. I have learned a large amount of the care that needs to be taken with animals while working here, and plan to use the knowledge I've learned while working to help our customers and visitors however possible.
Resort Host, Nina Moody
My name is Nina Moody and I am just starting my fourth year at Cal Poly as an Animal Science major with a minor in Equine Science. I grew up just north of Salinas, CA in a little town called Prunedale, and have been fortunate enough to have animals around me my entire life. My passion has always been to work with animals, and while I have the opportunities at school to continue to work with horses, I am so grateful to have this opportunity here at Thousand Hills to play with, and take care of so many fantastic and lovable dogs and cats. I am excited to be a new part of this team, and I can't wait to meet and care for your pets!
Resort Host, Lauren Mattina
Animals have always been an important part of my family, and dogs are no exception. From a young age I've enjoyed pet-sitting and spending time with animals in any capacity, so Thousand Hills is the perfect place for me. I love seeing the regulars come to daycare and boarding as well as meeting new "furry children". All the dogs have such an insatiable zest for life and the people here are passionate about what they do--it's a very positive environment. We look forward to giving your special pet a caring, friendly, fun experience at our resort.
Resort Host, Jonathan Phillips
Hello my name is JP. I am originally from the San Joaquin Valley. I grew up
around Dogs, but I never imagined working with them. After graduating high school
I decided to major in Registered Nursing. I moved to San Luis Obispo to take certain
nursing courses that I could not take in the Valley due to waitlists. In this adventure I
ran into Thousand Hills Pet Resort. I have now worked at Thousand Hills Pet Resort for
over a year and my love for Dogs and Cats has tremendously deepened. I truly enjoy
coming to work at Thousand Hills Pet Resort because I know that the Dogs and Cats
are always going to be happy to see me. Have a great day and I hope to see you soon.
